![]() Professor Falco shed light on Ibn al-Haytham, the 11th century inventor, philosopher and thinker from Arabia, and his contributions to modern science and technology. The lecture by Professor Falco aimed to take participants on a journey to better understand theories of vision, light and optics from the Golden Age of Muslim Civilisation to modern period. Participating children and families also enjoyed hands-on workshops to explore the scientific inquiry and advancements during the Golden Age of Muslim Civilisation.Īlso on August 14 the MOSH invited Professor Charles Falco to deliver a talk titled “ Vision into Muslim Culture & Inventions: Ibn al-Haytham”. ![]() Throughout the day MOSH science explainers performed diverse experiments themed on the scientific contributions of pioneers from Muslim Civilisation. The educational event at MOSH featured screening the short film “1001 Inventions and the Library of Secrets” starring Oscar-winning actor Sir Ben Kingsley. 1001 Inventions aims to collaborate with schools, museums, and educational organisations around the world to help spark children’s interest in science while promoting diversity and intercultural appreciation.” We are delighted to partner with the Museum of Science & History to present engaging experiences to celebrate scientific achievements from the Golden Age of Muslim Civilisation that still influence our world today.
